“A novel approach to self-capabilities in IoT industrial automation computing continuum” paper presentation

aerOS paper entitled “A novel approach to self-capabilities in IoT industrial automation computing continuum” was presented during WF-IoT 2023! The 2023 IEEE 9th World Forum on Internet of Things (WF-IoT 2023) brings the latest from the research and academic community. It included a broad program of papers and presentations on the latest technology developments and innovations in the many fields and disciplines that drive the utility and vitality of IoT solutions and applications. After extensive peer review, the best of the proposals were selected for the conference program, which included technical papers, tutorials workshops and industry sessions designed specifically to advance technologies, end to end solutions, systems and infrastructure, processes, and operating methods, that are contributing to how IoT can reshape the world and overcome the challenges we face, so that all individuals can participate in and enjoy life to the fullest.

“Capitalising on Cloud-Edge-IoT: Building your next product, finding your next market opportunity” Webinar

Ignacio Lacalle Ubeda, from Universitat Politècnica de València UPV presented aerOS Open Call during the “Capitalising on Cloud-Edge-IoT: Building your next product, finding your next market opportunity” webinar by EuCloudEdgeIoT on 20th of Semtember!

This online event included information on the funding opportunities through open calls organised by the meta-OS projects, supporting over 60 actions with budgets between 60.000 and 200.000 € totalling over 4 million €. These actions aim to extend the intermediate results of the meta-OS projects by specific applications. Researchers, industry players, SMEs and start-ups had the opportunity to explore ways to contribute to cloud-edge use cases in automotive, energy, mobility, manufacturing and beyond.

1st aerOS code camp

The inaugural aerOS code camp took place on 19-21 of September in Bilbao. The purpose of this gathering is to review the current progress of our technical activities and establish the direction for the upcoming period. Also, at this meeting partners created small teams to discuss different aspects of the project simultaneously.

The research community booklet

The European Cloud, Edge & IoT Continuum (EUCloudEdgeIoT.eu) aims to realise a pathway for the understanding and development of the CEI Continuum by promoting cooperation between a wide range of research projects, developers and suppliers, business users and potential adopters of this new technological paradigm.

The EUCloudEdgeIoT.eu project contributes to the coordination of a portfolio of research projects in the CEI Computing Continuum funded under:

  • Cloud Computing: towards a smart cloud computing continuum (ICT40-2020)
  • Software Technologies (ICT-50-2020)
  • Next Generation Internet of Things (ICT-56-2020)
  • Future European platforms for the Edge: Meta Operating Systems (HORIZON-CL4-2021-DATA-01-05)
  • Cognitive Cloud: AI-enabled computing continuum from Cloud to Edge (HORIZON-CL4-2022-DATA-01-02)
  • Programming tools for decentralised intelligence and swarms (HORIZON-CL4-2022- DATA-01-03)
  • Open source for cloud-based services (HORIZON-CL4-2022-DIGITAL-EMERGING-01-26)

These will also benefit from the synergies and legacy of other existing EU projects in the domains of Cloud, Edge, IoT, AI, and connectivity, including, among others, NGIoT, SW Forum and H-Cloud, as well as companies and startups such as Axelera AI.
