The 2nd Workshop on MetaOS for the Cloud-Edge-IoT Continuum (MECC 2025) will be co-hosted at the ACM EuroSys 2025 that will be held from March 30 to April 3, 2025, in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The workshop, co-organised by projects of the MetaOS cluster – FLUIDOS, NEPHELE, aerOS, NebulOuS, NEMO and ICOS EU funded projects – aims to provide an overview of the opportunities and critical issues brought by a MetaOS orchestrating the Cloud-Edge-IoT ecosystem, particularly focusing on its deployment to optimize AI processes computational needs.

Through a series of technical presentations, interactive sessions, and panel discussions, this workshop will address critical issues such as interoperability, standardization, and contribution to relevant open-source projects. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, share research findings, and collaborate on innovative solutions to advance the field of MetaOS.

  • Latency, scalability, and connectivity issues in the continuum

aerOS Pilot 1 Scenario 3 – Current aerOS developments

The goal of aerOS Pilot 1 Scenario 3 use case is to establish a versatile production system distinguished by modularity, efficiency, and adaptability to dynamic manufacturing conditions. This integration is facilitated through aerOS decentralized intelligence and communication technology, complemented by Siemens cloud systems services known as SIMATIC Industrial EDGE.

In this video we show the current development of aerOS in our use case and the different tools used in it, such as SIMATIC SIMOVE ANS+ or Behaviour Trees.
