Dr. Tanya Suárez is the CEO and founder of IoT Tribe, a tech ecosystem builder that operates without taking equity. IoT Tribe connects startups and corporates to drive business opportunities, with hubs focused on Industrial Tech in London/Barnsley, Deeptech in Singapore, and Space Tech in Madrid. Dr. Suárez also leads BluSpecs, a digital transformation agency working at the intersection of advanced technology adoption, skills, and regulation. The agency’s services include tech strategy, venture building, market exploration for emerging tech products, and crafting tech policy briefs.In addition to her leadership roles, Dr. Suárez serves as a jury member of the European Innovation Council, an initiative that offers up to €3 million in non-dilutive funding and up to €15 million in equity funding to innovative startups and SMEs from the UK, Europe, Israel, and Turkey. She is also recognized as a European Digital Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and is an active member of Tech London Advocates, Tech Quantum Advocates, and Tech Spain Advocates.

Brian O. Regan
Head of the Energy Informatics Group
Brian is the head of the Energy Informatics Group (EIG), dedicated to advancing the digital transformation of the energy sector. He recently served as the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Cooperative Energy Trading System (CENTS) project, funded under the Irish Government’s Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF). This project focused on establishing a trading mechanism for electricity generated from renewable energy sources. He also played a pivotal role as the Work Package (WP) Lead in the DTIF-funded TRIDENT project, which is innovating a Grid-Ready, Sustainable Sodium-Ion Smart battery for Stationary storage applications.
Previously, Brian served as the IERC PI for the BIM4EEB H2020 project, aimed at developing a Building Information Model (BIM) toolkit to enhance the efficiency of building renovations. His expertise also extended to a leadership role in the IEA DSM TCP Global Observatory on Peer-to-Peer, Community Self-Consumption & Transactive Energy Models.
Currently, Brian holds a strategic position as a Strategy Board Member of SEEBlocks and is deeply involved in the ERANet GeoCoHorT project as the IERC PI developing a DLT enabled shallow geothermal heat trading and behavioural analysis.
His contributions extend to several technical committees, including the NSAI/TC 002/SC 16 focused on Blockchain and electronic distributed ledger technologies, the IEEE P2418.5 Energy Blockchain Working Group, and he is a part of the Energy Cork Steering Group. Brian is also a member of the UNECE Energy Efficiency Expert Group and the UNECE Task Force on Industrial Energy Efficiency.
Brian’s research interests span Smart Grids, Building Energy Performance, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Blockchain, and AI/ML, showcasing his dedication to integrating cutting-edge technologies for energy sector advancement.
Dr. Eusebiu Catana
Senior Manager @ ERTICO – ITS Europe
Dr. Eusebiu Catana is Senior Consultant for the EU & public funding, member of the DTLF steering committee, founder of the FENIX2.0 cross-border data sharing association and the chairman of the ISO/TC 204 sWG 17.2 on Nomadic Devices in ITS Systems. He holds a PHD in Vehicle Telematics, Master Degrees in Engineering, Operations Research and post graduate master in Industrial Management as well as Project Management Professional (PMP)® and CISA certifications.
Before joining ERTICO in March 2017 as Senior Consultant for Innovation and advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, he has previously worked as a Technical Consultant in R&D for about 25 years at top technology companies in both Europe and the USA In 2002 in Munich he was awarded with the “best award for ITS project development platform” from the IT industry.
In 2023, he was awarded the “Innovation Award” in Brussels for his contributions to digital transformation in the transport industry. He also received the “ICTStand 2023 award” from the European Commission for his role in standards development. Dr. Catana, along with his team, successfully secured over 20 projects in recent years, focusing on 5G, IoT, AI, and Edge technologies.
Jolanda Modic
Senior Project Manager and Grant Specialist at ICS
Jolanda Modic, a specialist in information security and privacy at the Institute for Corporate Security Studies (ICS Ljubljana), is responsible for coordinating projects and proposals in the area of critical infrastructure. Holding a Doctorate in Mathematical Sciences, she has contributed extensively to the development of innovative approaches to cybersecurity management, including advanced technologies for protection, secure data sharing, and data analysis. Her work spans across multiple domains, reflecting a deep commitment to enhancing the security landscape.
